It continues...

So today, I was able to check off 5 things off the list. And I would have thought I would have been over the moon ecstatic. I don't think I can say that I am, I guess somethings are best left to the imagination. The food was still good but I wonder how some of them are on the list. I had the secret breakfast flavor from Humphry Slocombe which is made up of cornflake and bourbon. Then I had the cookie and cream cookie from Anthony's Cookies. The third stop was the chips and salsa from Papalote. Then I had the pupusa from Balompie which was followed by the rotisserie chicken from Limon and ended with chicken wings from San Tung. I don't even want to begin to think about the calories that I consumed. Some were definitely worth it more than others. I am not a complete fatty, I did have some company on today's hunt. Details to come of each later.

Pizzaiolo

This place isn't on the 7 by 7 list but it is still definitely should be a consideration. We started off with a cod appetizer and the fried green tomatoes. I don't like tomatoes but I would eat these ones all day if I could. And the winner of the night was a potato, pancetta and rosemary pizza with white sauce. OMG! How perfect of a pizza for me. I am just waking up from my food coma and let me tell you, so worth it. The panna cotta was definitely pretty darn good. It was creamy softness goodness surrounded by strawberries and oh so delicious. I can still taste it in my mouth, definitely one creamy thing I would eat over and over. It wasn't horribly sweet and there was a hint of saltiness which is so perfect for me because I LOVE salt. We also had a wild nettle and pecorino pizza which was good...too much green but still good and there wasn't any tomato sauce. Then there was a wild nettle and sausage pizza and that was good but the potato and pancetta pizza has a special place in my heart...at least as of right now.

Cantina: Laughing Buddha

To continue on my quest to finish the 7 by 7 list, I thought there was an item from Cantina. I was wrong, it's on their other list. I think I have two lists I am trying to complete. I am quickly realizing this is an expensive thing and probably not the best for fitting into my clothes. I have decided to have people share some of these items with me. Anyways, the laughing buddha cocktail from Cantina is definitely different. You can taste the serrano chilies and that cuts away all taste of the alcohol. It is definitely one way to hide the taste of vodka. I am not sure I could have one all to myself but I am glad to have tried some of my friends. It doesn't hurt that the bartenders there are all very attractive. The other drinks there were delicious and different a great place to start the night.

SF Underground Farmer's Market

WOW! The amount of people at the event was crazy. It was lots of fun with good food and great people. You can feel and taste the passion that they have for the food they were cooking. The macaroni and cheese was my personal favorite. I had told the lady cooking it how yummy it was, she just lit up. I am sure she has heard it all before but you can tell how proud she was that someone liked it. There was a 5 dollar fee which helps cover the cost of renting the venue...i think and most items were like 5 dollars, not too bad considering it was all homemade goodness. There was one guy selling ice cream in baby mason jars. It was so precious, I LOVE mason jars. I am not sure why but they are just so cute. It was a great event and definitely will be going back. Word of advice is to get there early.

#20 Salumi Misti Plate

I don't even know where to begin with this one. I am pretty sure there were at least 8 different kinds of salumi on the plate. The waiter that brought us the plate asks us if we wanted to know what was on the plate. Honestly, they looked pretty much like all the same thing. I mean there were obvious differences. There were some that looked like raw hamburger meat. The guy started to tell us about all the different kinds and I just wanted to tell him that he should just save his breath because there wasn't any kind of chance of me remembering what I was going to eat. I take that back there was a backfat salumi and the only reason I remembered that one was because it was white and all the other ones were red. The salumi misti plate was yummy, I definitely preferred the ones that looked less like hamburger meat not because of the looks but it was too mushy. The ones that looked like sopressta or the regular salumi seen at the grocery stores were good. It didn't blow my mind but it is another item completed. Note to anyone that wants to eat this, don't drink too much because the thought of this item the next day did quite the number on my digestive system.

#92: Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog

Please do not judge me. The thought of this item can be repulsing to many of you and I understand but blame it on the weather or the booze or the fact that I eat weird things but this was oh so good. #92 is the bacon wrapped hot dog. I know many of you are probably running to the bathroom wanting to vomit or the rest of you are judging me and counting the ridiculous amount of calories I consumed in one bite but I am telling you, it is worth every calorie. I wouldn't recommend it as part of one's daily diet (I did learn something from nursing classes) but every now and then, it hits the spot...especially when you are drunk and all self control and common sense goes out the window. This was completed during Pride Weekend and Jenny and Kelly were my fellow consumers. The hot dog was wrapped in bacon and cooked on some kind of make shift pan. The guy also fried the onions in the bacon grease (oh my, I am pretty sure as I am typing this my arteries are becoming smaller and smaller). After the man cooked the hotdog, I had him top it off with ketchup and the bacon greased soaked onions. I held off on the mayo...which I know is pointless but I thought that might have been a bit much.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARADA!

Here Goes Nothing...

Okay, so I am jumping on the band wagon and like everyone else and their mother going to start a blog. And to make it worse...it will be about food. Don't get me wrong, i LOVE food. It actually is an issue but that is for a later time. I am just saying, thanks to Yelp and the various foodie blogs, anyone and everyone is writing about food. I guess there is no harm in joining the mass. Like every other person, I have an opinion and it's a rather strong one when it comes to food. To give me some kind of guidance, because anyone that knows me knows I have my moments of spascity and ADD...especially when I am hungry (another thing to look into), I am using the 7 by 7 list of the 100 things to eat before you die. I have completed 2 things on the list. 98 more to go...
