UMMM....

So, I have completed about 30ish things off the 7 by 7 list and I have to say I am not quite impressed. Maybe I am a food snob...okay I am a food snob but seriously some of the food on there is just mediocre and average at best. Don't get me wrong, I understand the love the chef put into their food but I am not sure if some of the items are must-eats. I will finish it but I am slightly wary about the food ahead. We will see. Here's to hoping to me being wrong.

I think I need to move back to NY..if not for being in the CITY but the food alone. Maybe not because I need to fit in my clothes...here's to trying it out for size.

4505 Meats

Chicharrones were oh so good. They are different and that is what makes them better. There is a nice balance of savory, sweet and heat. They are crunchy but then after chewing it up, they melt into goodness that just coats your mouth. They are out of this world. The burger that they served at the Eat Real Festival was so juicy and perfect. The crunch from the lettuce with the freshness of the tomato complemented the flavor of the cheese and meat. YUMMY!

Note: I just came back from Costa Rica and Panama and I was missing these chicharrones. And there were plenty of chicharrones in CR and Panama.

Namu

The korean tacos were delicious! The tacos doesn't look that big but they were piled high with goodness upon more goodness. The seaweed was soggy from all the juices but it was still so good. It starts with the seaweed and rice on top with the beef and salsa topping that. The freshness from the salsa combined with the tender beef was scrumptious. They may look little but they pack a big punch of flavor.

Blue Bottle Coffee Co.

I got the gibraltar and it was good. However, I think good coffee is wasted on me. Don't get me wrong, the coffee was good and hit the spot because it was kind of a chilly day. But I will drink anything that has coffee flavoring.

Roli Roti Gourmet Rotisserie

I heard stories about the lines at this truck and I was determined to get a sandwich. The opportunity presented itself when it came to the Eat Real Festival. I was happy to know I didn't have to drive to SF to try this "amazing" sandwich. I got to the festival early so I could avoid the lines and this sandwich is worth the wait. It gives Ike's a run for his money. The combination of bread that is soaked with the juice of the meat and the peppery veggies and crunch of the pork skin was just delicious. I think the only thing I would add would be an aioli but I just like aioli A LOT. It is also quite filling and I only had half a sandwich. It is something I would definitely eat again and again.

El Huarache Loco

The huarache kind of reminds me of a pupusa. It was nicely fried and filled with beans. The thing that makes it good is the cactus salad. It has a nice tang from the acid which I am guessing is vinegar. The cheese that is mixed in is another great addition. It's something different to try; I am not sure I would go out of my way for it though.
